WHY IT EXISTS
Food has become noisy.
Labels, claims, trends - but little clarity.
People want to eat homemade food made with real ingredients by real people.
They just don’t know who to trust or where to find it.
Certified Homemade exists to fix that.
Not by making food more complicated, but by setting clear, transparent standards that are easy to recognise.
WHAT CERTIFIED HOMEMADE IS
Certified Homemade is a standards-based certification for food businesses and makers producing homemade food.
It confirms that:
- ingredients are recognisable and transparent
- allergens are declared clearly
- food safety requirements are met
- food is prepared with care, integrity, and honesty
This is not about perfection.
It is about trust.
HOW IT WORKS
- Apply through one application form
- Your business is assessed against the Certified Homemade™️ standards
- You are awarded:

Why Join Certified Homemade?
Be part of a recognised standard customers can trust
Gain visibility without having to explain or justify your food
Help rebuild trust in homemade food, together
We’re opening this standard carefully, starting with a small group of founding food businesses.
Founding Members (Limited Opening)
Certified Homemade is opening first to a small number of founding food businesses who want to help establish this standard from the ground up.
To recognise early commitment and belief in the vision:
Membership (£14.99/month)
Membership begins once certification is awarded and covers continued use of the Certified Homemade mark, listing, and participation in the Certified Homemade ecosystem. There is no monthly fee during application or assessment.
Certification assessment: £499 Assessment fee waived for founding members
Founding members complete the same application and assessment process as all future applicants.
Certification is awarded based on evidence and standards, not guaranteed.
This early phase is about:
- shaping the standard responsibly
- building credibility from the start
- ensuring the system is rooted in real food businesses and real practice
Once the founding member places are filled, the assessment fee will apply to all new applications.
